So, you’re engaged and the real planning now begins. One of the most important things to check off your “countdown-to-the-big-day” list is to figure out how you’re going to wear your makeup. You can never go wrong with a natural look and creating that wedding glow is essential given that you might not have slept for days up to the big day. Read on for some helpful tips about how to use the Mai Couture “Curated Kit” Bridal Survival by Celebrity Makeup Artists Valerie Hernandez and Kurumi Schulz in helping to create that wedding glow foundation.
“It’s important to start by prepping the skin,” says Valerie. “Use Minerals in the Mist by Youngblood, which is a great product to use in place of toner. Then, I apply a good moisturizer, my all-time favorite which is Lait-Crème Concentre by Embryolisse.” It’s a good idea to use a primer to help minimize lines and create a smooth matte finish on the skin. If your skin starts to shine, no problem! You can use Mai Couture’s Rejuvenate Blotting Papiers in LAVENDER blotting papers to remove excess oil from the skin. Once skin has been prepped, Kurumi suggests “starting with [applying] eye makeup and move onto the skin, so I can clean up the excess [makeup under the eyes] before doing the foundation”.
Finding the right foundation for your big day is key and Valerie suggests using the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation “for a beautiful, long lasting finish and healthy glow. For an airbrushed finish, use a damp beautyblender for maximum blendability.” (Tip: you can set the makeup with Mai Couture’s Foundation Powder Papier.) To finish off that bridal radiance, highlight the face with Mai Couture’s Highlighter Papier and swipe a sheet of the Mai Couture’s Blush Papier on the apples of the cheeks. And voila! You have a gorgeous, fresh wedding glow that will shine even more when you walk down the aisle.
